Obama Says Rural Americans Cling To "Guns and God" Out Of "Bitterness"
April 12, 2008
Democrat presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) attacked rural Texans while raising money in the birthplace of liberal elitism, San Francisco.
Sen. Obama said hard working rural Americans are "bitter" and that they "cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
Hotline reported "Obama stirred up a boiling cauldron of religion and guns and hate, and he pointed a finger at the good voters of PA for clinging to the wrong stuff."
