Op-Ed and Vets

Yesterday Sen. Cornyn wrote an op-ed for Townhall.com titled "Democrats Energy Plan: Tax, Sue, and Investigate."

Here's a snippet:

To most Americans, addressing rising energy prices might include at least a bow to the law of supply and demand. It might contain some true common sense ideas such as stepped-up exploration, added domestic refinery capacity, or other measures to increase U.S. energy and reduce dependence on foreign supplies.

But Democrats made clear they have other priorities. They want to tax, sue and investigate their way out of this problem.

Also, last week, Senator Cornyn signed on as a co-sponsor to the Enhancement of Recruitment, Retention, and Readjustment Through Education Act. The legislation would make long overdue updates and improvements to the Montgomery G.I. Bill.

The bill would not only improve education benefits for service members, veterans, and members of the Guard and Reserve, but also help recruitment and retention by helping more military personnel attend college debt-free.

It would also help career military personnel provide for the education of their spouses or children.
