Cornyn Raises Nearly $33 Million to Support GOP Efforts to Win Back Senate Majority
Increases Lifetime Senate Fundraising to Nearly $415 Million
Following the successful partywide effort to secure a Republican Senate majority, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) announced today that he raised nearly $33 million during the 2024 election cycle to support Republican Senators and candidates nationwide and close to $415 million overall during his time in the Senate.
His fundraising total, which reached $32,965,037 for this cycle, included $16 million in direct support for the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). This latest success brings Senator Cornyn’s overall fundraising to $414,242,254 since his election to the Senate in 2002, demonstrating consistent and substantial financial support for Republican Senators and candidates over his Senate tenure.
“I’m deeply grateful to the thousands of Americans who contributed to our efforts this cycle,” said Senator Cornyn. “Their unprecedented support helped build the resources needed to advance our shared priorities in the Senate. This historic level of engagement reflects the deep commitment of voters who want to see effective, conservative leadership in Washington.”
In a separate election-night statement congratulating President Trump on his historic victory, Senator Cornyn said, “Over the years, President Trump and I have worked closely together, especially while I served as Senate Majority Whip, on some of his biggest achievements like landmark tax reform and the confirmations of Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh. I am looking forward to continuing to serve our nation working hand in glove with him and my Republican colleagues to kickstart his administration and make America great again by making the Senate work again.”
In a letter sent last month to supporters and colleagues, Senator Cornyn emphasized the importance of directly channeling “hard” dollars into campaigns, allowing his Senate Republican colleagues and candidates to allocate funds most effectively. He also outlined key priorities for a new Republican Senate majority, including:
- Preventing tax increases and rebuilding economic prosperity;
- Unleashing American energy production;
- Restoring legislative authority and reforming regulatory overreach;
- Implementing fiscal policies to reduce wasteful government spending;
- Confirming conservative federal judges;
- Securing the border and combating illegal drug trafficking;
- And opposing the radical left’s agenda.
